BRINGING ANCIENT HISTORY TO LIFE

The Explorations in Antiquity Center in LaGrange, Georgia, is a living museum of life in ancient times. Through archeological replicas, Biblical meal presentations, lectures, and other personal experiences, ancient Middle Eastern life becomes real today. Step back into time as you sit in an authentic goat-hair tent like the nomadic shepherds have lived in for thousands of years. See tombs like those in which Abraham and Jesus were buried. Visit a village and city gate area to see what life was like 2000 years ago. Dine with the ancients as you share a Passover Meal much like that which Jesus ate at the Last Supper. Enter the Time Tunnel and learn about the worship practices of pagans, Jews, and Christians from 2500 BCE to 500 CE by exploring replicas of excavated houses of worship from Israel. These opportunities and so many more wait for you at the Explorations in Antiquity Center! We hope that your visit to our web site will be the first step towards your journey to visit us in person.

NATIONS OF THE BIBLICAL WORLD CRAFT DAYS FOR KIDS

The Explorations in Antiquity Center has planned three very special craft days for kids. Through these events kids will learn about the culture and people of some of the Biblical countries. There will be three sessions on each day: 10:30-12:30, 1-3 PM, and 4-6PM.

Saturday July 11: Study the Egyptian culture, learn hieroglyphs, study the names and attributes of the Egyptian gods and how the people of Egypt suffered punishment through the Ten Plagues.  Each child will make their own cartouche (their name in hieroglyphs).

Saturday July 18: Study the Israelite culture, learn some Hebrew (the language of the Bible), study the meaning of Biblical names and prayers.  Each child will make a mezzuzah (a scroll of blessing to place on the door post of your room).

Saturday July 25: Study the Roman culture, learn about life in the Roman Empire, and find out what life was like as an Israelite under Roman control.  Each child will make a special craft as part of their experience.

Cost per child is $10 and includes the craft. For more information please call 706-885-0363.
